The Royal Horticultural Society, which is
the UK's leading gardening charity has recently celebrated its Bicentenary. Founded 200 years ago, the society leads the way in horticultural
training and education, and has the world’s foremost horticultural
library - Lindley Library.
The RHS has consented to make
available a set of prints from this library, by the renowned
Belgian illustrator
Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840), and we are pleased to
offer you a collection of these beautiful floral artworks.
Born
in
Saint-Hubert,
Redoute was
known for his paintings of
roses, and other
flowers. He was an official court artist of
Queen Marie Antoinette, and
gained international recognition for his precise renderings of
plants.
